Microsoft is set to hold a Surface event in New York City on October 2. The event will contain details related to the third generation of Surface products, Microsoft’s premium lineup.
Speculation and hype is surrounding the flagship company’s decision of employing new hardware and possibly introducing dual screen windows laptops. Rumors of this ‘dual-screen laptop’, a laptop-tablet hybrid that goes by the name of ‘Centaurus’, have been going around for quite some time.
The ‘Centaurus’ has made some unofficial appearances ahead of its official release. The reference hardware was showcased to employees at an internal meeting earlier this year. According to reports so far, Microsoft’s laptop-tablet hybrid will run on a custom Windows 10 Lite OS and rely on Intel’s Lakefield chipset for performance. The laptop will derive inspirations from Microsoft’s long forgotten Courier tablet concept.
Aside from the laptops, Microsoft is also expected to launch the Second Gen Surface Go, the alternative for iPad Pro. It’s the most compact Surface device. The tab will be available in India at an MRP of Rs. 38,599.
